This gorgeous building right on Lake Michigan houses some unique local art work, as well as hosts local events throughout the year, including Twilight Jazz in the summer (which truly is fantastic!!). However, as an "art center" it's doesn't offer a lot of art or art functions. I think this place could improve and do so much more than it offers now.
A great location, a beautiful building, and a fine place to see great local art. The staff are wonderful. A clarification to another review. The review regarding the wedding reception references the Kemper Center next door and not the Arts Center. Though they're on the same grounds, the Arts Center has neither a third floor nor an auditorium/gymnasium. The Kemper Center does.
It's a beautiful campus. Beautiful church! NOT a great place for a wedding reception. They split the reception. The drinks were on the 3rd floor, dinner in the gym. Bathrooms in the basement, LOT of stairs!!!
Went to the Art of the car show. Beautiful grounds.
